I have been practicing for over 25 years, receiving my doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Denver and completing my doctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School/Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. I completed an additional fellowship at Harvard Community Health Plan. At UCLA, I currently serve as Director of Training and Chief Administrator at Counseling and Psychological Services. Faculty appointments include Assistant Professor of Psychology at UCLA (2008-present) and Assistant Professor of Psychology at Harvard Medical School (1986-2011).

I serve as a member of the Education and Training Committee for Division 44 of the American Psychological Association. Other professional assignments have included tenures as Board Vice-President of GLAD, New England's largest civil rights organization, and Commissioner for the Massachusetts Governor's Commission for Gay and Lesbian Youth.
