Doctoral Seniority & Credentials
More than 30 years of clinical depth, academic leadership & compassionate care.
When you enter psychotherapy, you deserve a clinician with the seasoned judgment to see beyond immediate symptoms and understand the intricate architecture of your mind.
Many therapists today practice using short-term, "cookbook" templates that treat complex humans like checklists. While manuals have their place, real emotional healing requires the seasoned intuition that comes only from decades of immersive clinical practice.
As the former Director of Training at UCLA Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), Dr. Kassel led an APA-accredited internship program, personally training dozens of psychologists who now lead practices and departments across the country. Prior to UCLA, he served as Assistant Director and Clinical Supervisor at Harvard Medical School / The Cambridge Hospital.
This depth of training allows Dr. Kassel to strike an intentional balance: warm and receptive enough to create genuine emotional safety, yet astute and experienced enough to provide incisive clinical feedback when you feel stuck.
